What TwoDos reads
On your iPhone, you create one Shortcuts automation that runs when a message arrives from the partner you choose. It hands that single message to the TwoDos app. TwoDos can’t read your other conversations, and it doesn’t see the texts you send. Your partner’s phone captures those, but only if they turn capture on too.
Where a message is sorted
The TwoDos app first asks Apple’s on-device model whether the message is a to-do. If it is, the app sends us the to-do and the message it came from. If it isn’t, the app sends only a note that a message was checked, with no text.
If your iPhone can’t run Apple’s on-device model (older iPhones, or Apple Intelligence turned off), the app sends the message to our server instead. There, TypeSafe’s Jev model decides whether it’s a to-do, and Anthropic’s Claude writes up the ones that are. Both process the text under their API terms. Messages that aren’t to-dos are discarded after sorting; we don’t store them.
What we store
- Each to-do: its title and notes, plus the message it came from (sender, time and text), shown as its receipt.
- Your account, your shared workspace, and who belongs to it.
- Capture status for each phone: when it last sent something and what happened (added, merged, ignored). Never the text of ignored messages.
- Pause state, consent records, and operational logs.
We don’t copy your message history, sell personal data, or use your content for advertising.
The research agent
For items it can help with, TwoDos sends the to-do, its notes and its receipts to Anthropic’s API with web search to find options. It never buys, books or contacts anyone. It only suggests.
Other ways to connect
Two optional paths still exist for existing users. The Mac helper reads your chosen thread on a Mac on a schedule and sends a bounded set of messages to an AI provider for extraction. The ChatGPT Apple Messages flow imports a bounded range from one chat you approve. Both store only the extracted to-dos and their receipts here, and each is described in Settings.
Your controls
Either of you can pause capture or erase the whole workspace from Settings. Deleting the automation in the Shortcuts app stops capture on that phone immediately. To remove a waitlist email or ask anything: hello@coupletodos.com.
